The stretch of land where today Brotoluzzi vineyards prosper was the theatre of some fierce battles during the First World War where many young men lost their lives. To commemorate the Third Battle of the Isonzo, which began on 18 October 1915, we crafted “Diciottodieci” – a red blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.
The First World War Centenary celebrations happening at the Redipuglia Military Sacrarium inspired Giovanni Bortoluzzi, who promoted the projects which encompass the involvement of several artists from different countries in creating a special label for the wine. The wine is a limited edition whose entire proceeds are donated to the Pro Loco of Fogliano to implement initiatives and events to commemorate the Great War.
